Process Safety Culture for Hydrogen Operations

Decarbonization will be the biggest transformation of the global economy in this century and will involve new technologies using chemicals such as hydrogen, anhydrous ammonia, methanol, and LiO2. The widespread use of these chemicals for the energy transition presents challenges. Companies with mature PSM cultures may adapt to hydrogen but those without this culture are not applying a best practice. Process safety management effectiveness depends on a strong culture that dictates the acceptable behaviors and attitude leading to achieving safety goals. This must be nurtured continuously. This talk on Process Safety Culture for Hydrogen Operations was presented at the Process Safety Congress in Dordrecht, Netherlands on May 14, 2025.
