See you at the 2024 AIChE Spring Meeting & 20th GCPS!

AcuTech will be attending the 2024 AIChE Spring Meeting & 20th Global Congress on Process Safety (GCPS) in New Orleans next week. The AcuTech team will be presenting four talks on time-varying quantitative risk assessment, PHA facilitation, behavioral based process safety, and interpreting “should” vs. “shall” in RAGAGEP.

On Tuesday, March 26

  • Using Time-Varying QRA to Evaluate Hazards during a Turnaround or Temporary Operations

    Colin D. Armstrong, Group Leader & Principal Engineer, Quantitative Risk Services, will present a practical case study demonstrating how performing a time-varying QRA during turnarounds or other temporary operations can support safe operations.

  • Cooking up the Ideal Recipe for PHA Facilitation

    Alison Ballon, Principal Engineer & Western Business Unit Lead, will discuss several of the important considerations for developing as a facilitator to lead successful PHAs.

  • Improving Process Safety Culture through Behavioral Based Process Safety

    David Heller, Sr. Principal Engineer, will provide an overview of the #behaviorbasedprocesssafety (BBPS) methodology. He will delve into how this approach can help make meaningful and sustainable impacts to process safety programs.

On Wednesday, March 27

  • The Meaning of “Should”
    8:30am, Room 217-218
    Mike Hazzan, AcuTech Associate, will provide guidance on interpreting the “should” vs. “shall” debate, particularly how to deal with “should” provisions and why this matters. He will share lessons learned from AcuTech’s extensive onsite observations where the impacts of these interpretations are seen in process safety programs.
