This presentation explores how effective leadership behaviors at every level of an organization influence Process Safety Management performance, organizational culture, and the prevention of major accidents. It highlights the critical role leadership plays in shaping priorities, behaviors, and accountability for process safety. Drawing on global best practices and real-world experience, the presentation outlines practical actions leaders can take to strengthen barrier health, governance, decision-making, and continuous improvement. Together, these actions support sustainable process safety excellence. It was presented at the European Conference on Plant & Process Safety 2025 in Aachen, Germany in December 2025.
