AcuTech’s Asia-Pacific office serves the Asia, China, and Australasia countries with support from the AcuTech global team when required.
The Asia-Pacific team provides process safety and risk management support and consultancy services to oil and gas, petrochemical, and special chemical industries. Additionally, the office serves clients in various industries including pharmaceuticals, warehousing logistics, power generation, waste and water treatment, industrial/electronic specialty gases, and solar cell manufacturing.
Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and/or Technical Safety studies in Asia are driven either by regulations or mandated by global corporate policies/requirements. We observe a consistent demand for these services in Asia. This demand encompasses new build greenfield projects and existing facilities across traditional O&G and other industries.
Developing countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia may have opportunities in new build projects through EPCs. They also seek support for existing facilities. In developed countries like Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, etc., there is a drive for energy, cost, and yield efficiencies in manufacturing. This leads to modification works in existing facilities. Furthermore, oil, gas, and technology companies are investing in hydrogen and/or green energy research, trials, and projects.

PSM Support at a Singaporean API Manufacturing Company
AcuTech’s Asia-Pacific office supports a major Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing client in Tuas, Singapore since early 2023. In this role, the office has performed in HAZOP studies for all new batch manufacturing processes including changeover cleaning process. In addition, one of our consultants is based onsite full-time to provide various PSM support activities for the new plant and processes startup. This is an on-going project through early 2025.
Facilitating PSSR Studies for a Major Vietnamese Petrochemical Company
In early 2022 through mid-2023, the Asia-Pacific office was engaged by one of the major Vietnamese petrochemical companies to lead and facilitate the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) study a number of their units.
These units included a tank farm and jetty terminal, a flare system, and the entire olefins and Butadiene Extraction units. Following successful PSSR studies, units’ startups have since commenced without major safety issues.
QRA Studies for a Warehousing & Logistics Client in Singapore
Since 2022, AcuTech’s Asia-Pacific office has been working closely with one of the major warehousing and logistic clients in Singapore. This client, listed on the Singapore stock exchange, has partnered with AcuTech for Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) studies and Safety Case. This project includes consultation with regulatory authorities on QRA requirements, sensitivity analyses, preparation and submission of the full Safety Case. We are currently providing on-going support on QRA reviews for their proposed modification works and/or new chemicals storage.
