AcuTech Authors CFATS Article for Chemical Processing Magazine

The June 2007 issue of Chemical Processing magazine will feature an article on the new Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) which goes into effect June 8, 2007.  The article was authored by David A. Moore, President & CEO of AcuTech and Dorothy Kellogg, Senior Consultant for AcuTech.  The article discusses the intention of the new standard, facilities affected, key requirements as well as the national and international implications the standard will have.

AcuTech provided subject matter expertise to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the development of the new CFATS Risk-Based Performance Standards, inspector training, as well as the CSAT Top-Screen, SVA and SSP.  AcuTech was a prime contractor for the CCPS Guidelines document for analyzing security vulnerability at chemical sites.  In addition, AcuTech developed the API/NPRA SVA Methodology, and has been selected as the exclusive API provider for SVA and Facility Security Officer (FSO) training.

AcuTech served as the petroleum, chemical, and LNG industry sector coordinator for the Risk Analysis and Management for Critical Asset Protection (RAMCAP) project for the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  This national effort is developing uniform vulnerability assessment guidance and formed the basis for CFATS Top Screen and SVA.
